*Mopar Parts Warranty

Making sure all of your vehicles components are covered is an important factor when owning a car. Faulty parts happen all the time, you should be sure that your vehicle is protected. Having a Mopar Parts Warranty can prevent you from having to pay a large bill on a faulty part.

What The Mopar Parts Warranty Covers

The Mopar Parts Warranty will repair or replace any genuine Mopar part that is defective in materials or workmanship under normal vehicle use. Parts that were sold and installed by an authorized Mopar dealer will be repaired or replaced without charge. They are covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of installation. Parts that were sold but not installed by a Mopar dealer will be repaired without charge for the parts, but you will have to pay for labor. These parts are covered for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Some Mopar Parts Warranty Exceptions

Some Mopar products do have limitations whether it be milage or coverage difference. Be sure to check with your service department to see what will be covered for you when it comes time for a repair. Some of these exceptions include;

  • Mopar Batteries – Mopar batteries are not covered under the Parts Warranty because this component has its own separate Battery Warranty.
  • Mopar Collision Parts – Any type of damage that is caused by a collision is going to be covered under your insurance. A warranty will not help you out in the case of an accident.
  • Mopar Catalytic Converters – These also have their own separate warranty called the Mopar and Magneti Marelli Warranty. This warranty is only given to the original retail purchaser and is nontransferable.
  • Mopar Remanufactured Powertrain – The Mopar Powertrain is covered under the Mopar Powertrain Limited Warranty. The original date of purchase is the basis for the warranty start date.
  • Mopar Performance Parts – The following covered components for Performance Engine Assemblies that are defective in materials or workmanship will be replaced on an exchange basis for 90 days after the purchase of the part. Cylinder blocks and all internal parts. Cylinder head assemblies, intake manifold, core plugs, valve covers, oil pan, timing gear and/or chain and cover. Water pump, gasket and seals.  

Mopar Collision Replacement Parts

This is included in the Lifetime Limited Warranty. It covers components such as Mopar replacement sheet metal products including bumper covers and grilles against defects in material or workmanship. It also includes perforation due to corrosion in normal use.

This warranty starts on the original purchase date of the part and is only given to the original purchaser. It is not transferable and the warranty ends as soon as there is a new owner. The parts are only covered if they were determined to have a warrantable defect and if it was installed by a Dealer or a certified repair facility. These parts are covered for a 90 day period while covered by the 3 year/36,000 mile new basic limited warranty. Mopar Replacement Battery Warranty

This is covered under the Mopar Battery Warranty. In this warranty, batteries found to be defective in materials or workmanship will be replaced at no charge. Batteries installed on an FCA US LLC vehicle that are found to be defective are warranted for the remainder of the new vehicle's basic limited warranty. A Mopar replacement battery warranty is 3 years from the date of the battery purchase.

Mopar Catalytic Converter Warranty

The Mopar and Magneti Marelli warranty only covers the Catalytic Converter if it needs to be replaced due to a defect in the part or workmanship. This is valid for 3 years/25,000 miles from the date of installation. The external converter shell and end bushings are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for 5 years/50,000 miles from the date of installation. This warranty is non-transferable and is only given to the original purchaser. This warranty will automatically end as soon as the vehicle is sold or otherwise disposed of. It does not cover theft or misuse of the vehicle such as racing or failure to provide proper maintenance to the vehicle. 

What’s Not Covered

Mopar warranties do not cover any parts, components or equipment that aren’t produced by Chrysler or Mopar. These warranties also do not cover the costs of any repairs or adjustments that might be caused by or needed because of the use or installation of parts, equipment, materials or additives that are not Chrysler or Mopar.

Mopar warranties don’t cover the costs of repairing damage or conditions caused by fire or accident, abuse, negligence, or misuse. Also, It won’t cover damages caused by improper adjustment, alteration or failure to maintain the vehicle and corrosion or damage caused by the use of caustic materials.

Mopar warranties don’t cover parts installed on a vehicle used for racing or competition. They also do not cover the repair of any damage or conditions caused by racing or competition.

Mopar warranties do not cover the costs of repairing or replacing any part due to damage caused by poor or improper maintenance, contaminated fuels, or the use of fuels, oils, lubricants or fluids that aren’t recommended in your Owner’s Manual.

Additionally, Mopar warranties don’t cover the costs of damage caused by environmental factors such as fallout, chemicals, tree sap, salt, ocean spray and road hazards. Other factors include hail, floods, windstorms, lightning, tornadoes, sandstorms and earthquakes.

Mopar warranties are void to parts that have been installed on a vehicle that has it’s odometer or emissions systems tampered with. It’s also not covered if the vehicle has been declared a total loss by any insurance company. If the vehicle has a title saying that it is salvage, junk or rebuilt, the warranty will be void.   

Powertrain Warranty

All Mopar® Warranties provided use the original date of purchase as the warranty start date, as reported on the sales receipt, to the consumer. Subsequent replacements under the warranty will receive the balance of the original warranty period. All powertrain items covered under the 3-year/100,000-mile limited warranty are transferrable to subsequent owners. All other warranties are given only to the original retail purchaser, and this warranty is thus non-transferable unless otherwise stated when the vehicle is sold or otherwise disposed of (i.e., the vehicle is no longer titled in the consumer’s name), the limited warranty ends.
